"Free-lance interpreter since 1984 and member of Aiic since 2000, I have been interpreting in the Pacific region for 30 years, including 9 years as a staff interpreter-translator at the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC).
While at SPC, I interpreted at many high and top level conferences, including three Pacific Island Forum Summits and numerous sectorial meetings in all but a few Pacific Island countries.
Prior to joining SPC, I provided conference and translation services in and throughout the Pacific from my New Zealand base, servicing the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Program (SPREP) for 10 years, and co-organising language services with Bertold Schmitt for the two Codex Alimentarius committees then chaired by New Zealand.
My work experience has exposed me to every facet of Pacific islands development activities, politics, science and technology, culture and sports."

"I have known Patrick for 10 years and worked with him on numerous occasions when he was a translator/interpreter at the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC).
My role as the Manager of the Human Development Programme involved convening major regional meetings such as the Triennial Conference of Pacific Women, Meetings of Ministers of Youth and Women and the Council of Pacific Arts. It also involves organisation and hosting jointly with Governments the Festival of Pacific Arts once every four years.
On all these occasions, translation and interpretation was required in English and French and for many of them I worked closely with Patrick as the Team Leader providing these services or as a member of the translation/interpretation team.
Patrick provided a consistently excellent service in both roles, developed a close working relationship with my team and showed a commitment to delivering the best service often outside of the call of duty at all of the events we worked on together regardless of their subject or size and duration.
He is familiar with the Pacific island as a region, the individual countries that make it up, the various organisations including donors that are providing support to countries through the SPC, as well as the development issues and challenges that are discussed across a wide spectrum of subjects and areas. His long experience, knowledge and interest in these issues contribute to the excellence and efficiency of the translation and interpretation services that he provides.
Patrick is highly recommended."
