Effective communication is vital to the success of any multilingual conference or event. By working in partnership with my clients, paying close attention to detail, and adopting a pragmatic approach, I can optimize the quality of the service provided. For me, the experience of enabling people to communicate across language boundaries is second to none.

A few noteworthy projects

  • Conference interpreter for the institutions of the European Union since 1997, interpreting at a wide range of legal, technical and political meetings.
  • Freelance translator for the International Court of Justice in The Hague since 2009, translating pleadings in several cases.
  • Part-time Teaching Fellow at the University of Bath since 2000, training the next generation of interpreters.

Having employed Louise in a variety of roles over the past 15 years or so, I can testify to her organizational skills and, above all, her reliability: whatever the tasks she is called upon to perform, she can be counted on to achieve the desired results. As a top-level and highly experienced interpreter, Louise is naturally accustomed to remaining calm under pressure and dealing with the unexpected. Confident and outgoing, she is extremely well-equipped to deliver a professional service to clients requiring multilingual conference facilities.

Dr Steve Slade, International Court of Justice, The Hague

Louise has taught at the University of Bath since 2000, where she is responsible for training and examining interpreting students. The level of commitment she demonstrates to the highly ambitious and intensive Bath interpreting course is hard to match. Many of Louise’s students have passed EU and UN interpreting tests, which is largely due to her unparalleled efforts.

Louise is totally reliable, extremely well organized, and capable of completing any project to a very high standard. She strives for perfection in all her work and performs well under pressure. She is one of our key trainers, and without her hard work, dedication, enthusiasm and perseverance the Bath course would not have enjoyed the success that it has.

Louise is a person of the highest integrity and an excellent team player who enjoys the respect and admiration of all staff. She is a pleasure to work with - a truly remarkable colleague! I recommend her to you without reservation.

Elena Kidd, Course Director for the MA in Interpreting and Translating - European stream, University of Bath
