"I have had the great fortune to be the official interpreter and consultant interpreter for the State visits of Presidents Chirac, Sarkozy and Hollande to Israel and for reciprocal visits of Presidents Katzav and Peres to France. I have also accompanied numerous ministerial and parliamentary delegations.

On a proposal by France’s foreign minister Laurent Fabius, I was conferred with a Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite (Knighthood of the National Order of Merit) for the quality of my work during these missions.

As chief interpreter, I have provided and managed teams of interpreters for many international conferences. Examples include those organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on empowerment of women in developing countries, academic conferences, and symposia for judges of the Supreme Court of Israel. It has been challenging and highly rewarding."

“I want to thank you sincerely for your excellent work as an interpreter at official events at the presidential residence and during our visits to France… Your special skills have greatly contributed to those visits.”
Mrs Yona Bartal Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the President of Israel (President Peres)

“At the end of the International Conference for Judges, I want to thank you and all your team of interpreters for your contribution to the success of this conference.

Good simultaneous interpretation constitutes a significant part of the success of a conference, and there is no doubt that without the professional work of the interpreters, this seminar would not had the success it had…..”
Dr. Shlomo Levin, Vice President of the Supreme Court of Israel

“A major international news channel was born this year, providing service in French, English and Arabic, presenting the Israeli viewpoint on the world and the region in all its diversity. Clearly the role of the interpreter was to be as fundamental to the project as that of the journalist or the newsreader.”

“It was obvious, therefore, that we should turn for help to Gisèle Abazon, chief interpreter and consultant interpreter. Given her reputation in Israel for being the best in her field, she was the perfect choice to set up our linguistic service in the three languages, an essential service for a channel like ours.”

“She has always shown great professionalism, she reacts promptly to our often urgent requests and the quality of her own interpretation work for our station is praiseworthy. I trust she will remain with us at I24news for many years to come.”
Stéphane Calvo, Director, French-language service on I24news
