- Consultant interpreter, recruiting and coordinating teams of interpreters for regular clients from 1993. In 2000, Patrick was invited by the New Zealand Government to organise the language services for a number of Codex Alimentarius sessions. He and Bertold Schmitt started to cooperate actively and continued to do so until Patrick joined SPC in 2004.
- Since 2004, Bertold Schmitt has continued to provide languages services to the Pacific Islands region and he regularly consults Patrick, drawing on his 25 years of experience in the Pacific Islands region.
